This Privacy Policy explains how JM Consulting & E-Commerce LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Courier King (“Courier King,” “we,” “us” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information in connection with the website at mycourierking.com, the Courier King mobile applications, and related services (together, the “Services”).

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to personal information about Customers, Drivers and Driver applicants, visitors to our website, and people who join our waiting list or contact us. “Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with an individual.

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services that we link to or that you use alongside the Services, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. We collect the information you submit when you use the Services, depending on how you use them:

Proof-of-delivery recordsPhotographs taken by Drivers at pickup and drop-off, together with their time and location.
CommunicationsProblem reports, support requests and other messages you send us, and any attachments.
Waiting listName, email address, telephone number and company name submitted through our website.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Services we automatically collect: device and connection information, such as IP address, browser and operating system type, and app version; usage and log information, such as pages visited, actions taken, and dates and times of access; push notification tokens and device platform, where you allow notifications; and location information as described in Section 3.

Information from third parties. We receive: payment status, payment method type and limited card details (such as card brand and last four digits) from our payment processor, Stripe; background check status and results for Driver applicants from Checkr, Inc.; and address and map information from mapping and geocoding providers.

Payment information. Full payment card numbers and bank account credentials are collected and processed directly by Stripe and are never received or stored by Courier King. We store only references issued by Stripe that allow us to identify a payment or payout account.

Location Information

Customers. If you grant permission, the application reads your device’s location once, at the time you request it, to suggest a pickup address. This location is not stored against your account and is not used to track you.

Drivers. While a Driver is online or performing a Delivery, the application collects the device’s precise location, including when the application is running in the background, in order to offer nearby Deliveries, show the Customer the Driver’s approach, and record the Delivery. Location collection stops when the Driver goes offline, and the Driver’s last recorded live position is deleted at that time.

Proof photographs. Pickup and drop-off photographs are recorded with the location at which they were taken.

You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. Drivers cannot receive or perform Deliveries without location permission.

How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide the Services, including creating and administering accounts, verifying mobile numbers, preparing Quotes, matching Deliveries with Drivers, enabling tracking, and recording proof of pickup and delivery;
  2. To process payments, including authorizations, charges, refunds, gratuities and Driver payouts;
  3. To screen and approve Drivers, including reviewing applications and documents and obtaining background checks with the applicant’s authorization;
  4. To communicate with you, including verification codes, Delivery updates, receipts, responses to support requests, and service announcements;
  5. For safety, security and integrity, including preventing fraud, enforcing our Terms of Service, and investigating incidents and claims;
  6. To operate and improve the Services, including troubleshooting, analytics performed on our own systems, and developing new features;
  7. To comply with law, including tax, accounting and record-keeping obligations, and responding to lawful requests from public authorities; and
  8. With your consent, for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time.

Automated Processing

When you request a Delivery, we may submit the Item description you provide, and where applicable the Item photograph, to an artificial-intelligence model provided by Anthropic, PBC, acting as our service provider, to estimate the Item’s dimensions and weight and whether it is likely to fit a Driver’s vehicle. Only the Item details needed for the estimate are sent; your name, contact details and addresses are not.

These estimates assist Customers and Drivers and inform pricing guidance. They do not by themselves produce decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and Drivers and Courier King staff may review and override them.

How We Disclose Information

Between Customers and Drivers. When a Driver accepts a Delivery, the Driver receives the pickup and drop-off addresses, the Item details and photographs, any instructions, and the Customer’s first name. The Customer receives the Driver’s first name, vehicle details and, while the Delivery is in progress, the Driver’s location. Telephone numbers and email addresses are not disclosed between Customers and Drivers.

Service providers. We disclose personal information to vendors who process it on our behalf and under contractual obligations to protect it, solely to provide services to us:

Stripe, Inc.Payment processing, refunds, and Driver payouts through Stripe Connect, including identity verification required for payouts.
Checkr, Inc.Background checks on Driver applicants, with the applicant’s written authorization. Customer information is never sent to Checkr.

Apple Inc. and Google LLCPush notification delivery and mobile application distribution.
Mapping and geocoding providers, including OpenStreetMap servicesConverting addresses to map coordinates, suggesting addresses, and displaying map tiles for the area you view. Tile requests include your IP address and browser information.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property or safety of Courier King, our users or the public, including in connection with an insurance claim or a dispute about a Delivery.

Business transfers. If Courier King is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy or sale of all or part of its assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

With your consent. We may disclose information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.

No Sale or Targeted Advertising

Courier King does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, and does not disclose personal information to data brokers. Our applications do not access your device’s advertising identifier and do not include third-party advertising or analytics software development kits. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Services, such as keeping you signed in, maintaining security, and remembering your cookie preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Services will not function without them.

Because we do not track users across third-party websites, we do not respond differently to “Do Not Track” signals. Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, although we do not engage in either.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, and then delete or de-identify it. In particular:

  • Account and profile information is retained while your account is active and is deleted when you delete your account, as described in Section 13.
  • Transaction and payout records are retained for at least seven (7) years after the transaction, as required for tax, accounting and payment-network purposes. Following account deletion, these records are retained without your contact details attached.
  • Driver live location is overwritten as the Driver moves and the last position is deleted when the Driver goes offline.
  • Background check records are retained for the period required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable state law.
  • Waiting list submissions are retained until the Services launch in your area or you ask us to remove them.
  • Problem reports and support communications are retained for as long as needed to resolve the matter and any related claim.

Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption of all data in transit, storage of passwords and verification codes only in hashed form, expiry of verification codes, and server-side access controls that restrict each Delivery’s details to the Customer who requested it, the Driver who accepted it, and authorized Courier King personnel.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law, including the Florida Information Protection Act.

Your Choices

  • Account information. You can review and update your account information in the Account screen of the application.
  • Location. You can enable or disable location access in your device settings.
  • Push notifications. You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of non-essential text messages. We may still send messages required to operate your account, such as verification codes you request.
  • Email. Transactional emails, such as receipts, are part of the Services and cannot be disabled while your account is active.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  1. confirm whether we process your personal information and access a copy of it;
  2. correct inaccurate personal information;
  3. delete personal information that we hold about you;
  4. obtain your personal information in a portable format;
  5. opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling (we do not engage in these activities); and
  6. limit the use of sensitive personal information, such as precise geolocation, to purposes necessary to provide the Services, which is the only way we use it.

Exercising your rights. To make a request, contact us through our Support page. We will verify your identity, typically by confirming control of the mobile number associated with your account, and will respond within the time required by applicable law, generally within forty-five (45) days. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may contact the attorney general of your state.

Non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

California residents. California law permits residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the application by selecting Account and then Delete your account, and confirming. Deletion cannot be completed while a Delivery you are party to is in progress.

Deletion permanently removes your contact details, your photographs and your location history. Records of completed Deliveries and associated financial transactions are retained, with your contact details removed, for the period described in Section 9 to meet our legal obligations.

You can also delete your account by signing in on the web, or, if you cannot sign in, submit a deletion request, as described on our Account Deletion page.

Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended only for individuals aged eighteen (18) and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13), or from any person under eighteen (18). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Location of Processing

The Services are intended for use in the United States. Personal information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where information is transferred, we rely on our service providers’ contractual commitments to protect it in accordance with this Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, if the changes are material, provide notice in the application or by email before they take effect. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
